My story
People often ask me how I became a professional photographer,
so here is my story. It all started with the birth of my own
children. I began taking pictures of my children and I discovered
a new talent. I loved capturing each moment and milestone as
they grew. Years passed and my talents improved. Eventually,
friends saw the pictures I took and asked me to take pictures
of their families. A hobby became a passion and a then a part-time
job. That is how Carolyn Turner Photography was born. I feel
education is important and I continue to perfect my skills.
I study, attend seminars and take photography classes.
I am the mother of 4 beautiful girls and wife to a fabulous
husband. My family is my first priority. I don't overload my
schedule so I can spent time with my family and sufficient time
with each client. You can rest assured knowing that you will
receive individual attention at your session.
For the past 4 years I have had the privilege of working with
many fabulous families and feel honored to share in and be a
part of their lives. Click here

My Style
My style is professional, fun and creative. Being a mother myself
I am not easily ruffled by tantrums or an uncooperative child (or
spouse). I am patient and children feel at ease with me. I love
getting that perfect picture and have been known to lay down in
the dirt to get the right angle for a picture.
My portraits are all about relationships and the feelings those
relationships create. I want to do more than document how someone
looked at a certain age. When you look at your portraits I don't
want you to think, "Oh, that picture needs to be dusted." I want
you to laugh as you remember how much fun you had the day those
pictures were taken or to smile as you think how much "Johnny" has
grown or even cry a little as the feelings of love you have for
your family tug at your tender heart strings.
An artist named Roy Adrak said, "Great art is not how it looks but
how it makes you feel." Of course I want you to look your best and
I will do everything possible to assure that you do. However my
goal is to create portraits that capture a moment, show individual
personalities and even strengthen family relationships.
I feel that great pictures are art and they are powerful because
they evoke deep emotions. When my oldest was 4 and the twins were
still babies, I had had yet another sleepless night and the twins
ended up in our bed again. In the morning when I saw them sleeping
next to each other I took a few pictures. I hung those pictures
in our home and later when I was having one of THOSE days, when
I wondered WHY I had chosen to become a mother, I saw those pictures
of our little angels and my heart just melted. I kept those pictures
up for years and was always amazed at how my heart was changed by
just looking at a photograph. Great photography is powerful! Great
photography is art. "Great art is not how it looks but how it makes
you feel."

So why should you have pictures taken of your family, why bother,
why is it important? Children grow us so fast, our memory fades
with time and time passes so quickly. Let me help you turn moments
into memories.
